Mess: We have a mess in the hostel which works on a "No profit, No Loss" basis. The quality of food cooked is hygienic and is also well prepared. The Assistant Warden, Mr. M. Kumar (the Chairman of the mess), along with the mess Secretary see to it that everything is kept under control and also everything runs smoothly in the mess.
In a hostel where more than 75 students coming from all over India and even from foreign countries, the mess is a must. There is a temporary committee of five boys, excluding the mess Secretary, which is formed every month and they sit together with the mess Secretary to decide the menu for the coming month. Mr. Pravin Chauhan is the accountant of the mess. The backbone of the mess is the small group of the seven mess workers, who not only cook the food but also serve it. Mackichan Hall Mess serves both vegetarian as well as non-vegetarian meals for as low as Rs. 30/- per day, which covers breakfast, lunch and dinner. The kitchen is equipped with modern fittings like automatic gas burners and exhaust systems. Great care is taken when it comes to hygiene. Special water filters and coolers provide 24 hour supply of clean drinking water throughout the year. The huge dining hall can cater to almost 50 residents at a time. The efficient mess workers ensure a smooth functioning of the mess .

Recreation Room: The Recreation room was shifted from the ground floor to the first floor some years back and it is the place where all the residents spend time during their free time. It consists of a large 29 inch colour TV. The channels provided by the cable operator include known channels like Star movies, H.B.O, Star plus, BBC, CNN etc. amongst the long list of more than 40 channels. The Recreation room is accessible to the students between 3.30pm to 9.30 pm during weekdays and between 3.30pm to 12.30 am. During week-ends they can get special permission from the Warden at times to view programmes till 12.30 am during weekdays also. A part of the Recreation room is converted into a Gymnasium.

Library: The hostel library consists of many interesting books, newspapers and magazines which the students can borrow. The library functions under the supervision of the Library secretary, who regularly updates the newspapers and the magazines.

Bathrooms: The hostel has bathrooms on all the floors. Water is supplied 24 hours, seven days a week. Both hot and cold water is available. Care is taken not to waste water. The bathrooms are cleaned and disinfectants are applied at regular intervals on a daily basis. Importance is given to Hygiene. The bathrooms are large and spacious, and can easily accommodate 25 people at a time. Separate washing rooms are provided for washing clothes.

Gym: Body building is one of the activities many boys do. The hostel has a gym, which provides all the equipments at the disposal of the residents. This gym is maintained and kept in good condition by the Indoor Sports Secretary. Along with the gym, the hostel has many other indoor games. Table Tennis Table, Carrom Boards and Chess boards are available to the boys. These are accessible between 3.30 pm to 9.30 pm during week days and 3.30 pm to 12.30 am during week-ends.

Garden: Mackichan Hall has a garden in which many plants are to be found such as Sedum, Ferns and Aurocaria to name a few. The garden committee maintains the garden and also preserves and propagates the plants. There are also some ornamental plants present in the garden such as Maranta and the bridal bouquet. A lawn is attached to the hostel where many events are held such as the Iftaar party and the Annual Dinner. The lawn is mostly reputed for being a place where the boys relax and chat in the afternoon.

Volleyball Court: TThe Hostel has a Volleyball court in Mackichan Hall which also accommodates a Basketball Ring. This court is a multipurpose court for the Mackichanites. The boys play foot-ball and each year there are Volley ball tournaments and cricket tournaments which are held during the evening.

Internet: Our internet cafe is now presently available to the students from 7-10 p.m. on weekdays and 5-10 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

Doctor: The Hostel has a 24 hour doctor associated with it. In case of any emergency, the resident is shifted to the hospital, which is mere 2 minutes walk from the hostel.
