Admission Procedure of Mackichan Hall

Admission begins in the month of June i.e. two days before college re-opens for the new academic year. The forms for the hostel are given out in the college office. Admission in the hostel is granted equally to all. Boys from First Year Junior College to Third Year of Senior College are admitted. There are no discriminations based on religion or caste. Admission is given according to the merit of the candidate. Boys who live beyond 50kms from College are generally given admission. There is no way a person can get admission in the hostel by contacts, influence or any such illegal way. Admission is also given to need based students, although they are not bright in academics. They are taken into this hostel by looking at the overall situation of that candidate. For example he maybe handicapped or coming from a place which is always disturbed. Therefore all these conditions are taken into consideration and the boys are admitted.

A.T.K.T’'s are not admitted in the next year. A.T.K.T means the student has failed in an exam but promoted by college and given a chance to re-appear in that particular exam that he failed in. So these students are not taken in the new academic year. Those students who are not paying heed to the hostel rules and regulations and who are violating the rules of the hostel, strict action is taken against them and they are not admitted in the next term. So no one should go against the rules and regulations as action will be taken against them.

Admission for the students who have passed and want to take admission in the hostel for second year are admitted on the basis of their last examination performance and attendance in the college. Conduct in the hostel is also given a serious consideration while admitting the candidate.

The Freshers (the new comers) are only given a double room or a triple room for the first year. Single rooms are given to the students who have stayed more than one year in the hostel.

At the time of admission each student is interviewed personally by the warden. During admission each student has to be accompanied by his L.G. i.e. his Local Guardian. As the student and the local guardian have to sign an undertaking concerning all the rules and regulations of the hostel.
